Location and maps
The address of the Arts Faculty or Erasmushuis is Blijde Inkomststraat 21. It is a big, grey, concrete building that is very hard to miss. To get from the station or Hotel Binnenhof to the faculty, you only need to follow the Maria Theresiastraat.
Registration, reception and coffee breaks will take place in the entrance hall of the faculty.
The congress itself will be hosted in the “Justus Lipsiuszaal” (room 08.16) on the 8th floor.
Brussels National Airport
Leuven is located at approximately 25 km from Brussels National Airport. The cheapest and easiest way to travel to Leuven is by train. There is a direct connection between the airport and Leuven and the journey takes no more than 20 minutes.
Brussels South Charleroi Airport
Beware that Brussels South Airport is not located in Brussels, but in Charleroi (90 km from Leuven). You can take the bus to Charleroi railway station and a train from there to Leuven, which takes about 2 hours. By car you will need approximately one hour.
Leuven is easy to reach by train from all Belgian cities. The station is very close to the city center and the Faculty of Arts. International trains, Eurostar and Thalys arrive at railway station Brussels Midi. The average journey time between Brussels Midi and Leuven (not Louvain-la-Neuve!) is 30 minutes.
You are free to book accommodations as it suits you.
The website ‘Visit Leuven’ offers an overview of the available hotels: http://www.visitleuven.be/en/hotels. Leuven is a small city, so most hotels that are located in the center are in walking distance of the conference venue.
